(VOX) Why do shows leave streaming platforms?

I highly recommend reading Vox's article (linked below), "Why streaming services are dumping shows left and right?" Although I did not watch the show I was surprised to see Paramount+ was removing Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies off of their platform, not even 3 months of it being on Paramount+.

This led me to research why streaming platforms remove shows and it led me to this Vox article which does a great job explaining why it benefits studios to take shows off their platform. Hint... it comes down to saving money on residuals and/or being able to make money off of FAST platforms such as Pluto or Tubi. Another notable example of a show leaving a platform was Westworld leaving HBO Max (now Max). But taking Westworld off of Max and selling it to FAST platforms, allowed them to generate more money for a show they weren't making any money on, as well as help them cover residual costs.
